A very hot visit to Kinnordy again this afternoon.
This picture was taken at the west end of the reserve, where I sat for a while hoping to see the Marsh Harrier, but it didn't perform for me.
Instead the Highland Cattle were snoozing, with several Oycs, various ducks hiding in the watery...
.... then more goslings... with dad bringing up the rear (there wasn't room for mum in the first picture).
I counted 18 goslings - but there could well have been more. Presumably they'd pinched some from another clutch.

On one of my summer visits to the Murton Reserve I was scoping the far side of the wee loch when a Greylag came through, followed by some goslings.... then more goslings...
I made a visit to Martin Mere with Ivan Ellison. The day started out great but on arrival to the Mere the cloud came over ...there was only one bit of sky yielding colour and it did not last long. It was great to see the geese and swans which I hadn't seen for some time.

I had a very nice visit to Kinnordy this afternoon in lovely sunshine.
There were around 200 Greylags on the water, then they decided to fly off up to the fields above the loch. This is just a few of them, which I chose to show you as I rather like the overall scene.
Three pics from our last trip to the Norfolk Coast back in March/April for ya this morning. We are going to look along the A149 today, to see where we would like to move to, so no birding for me again. I hope the weathers kind to y'all, happy birding.
A Greylag Goose which decided to block the path at Strumpshaw Fen. In the end it turned out to be friendly! It's the first time I have noticed the notches on the biting edges of the bill to enable it to grip better. Ron
