In Zeeland, near Wissenkerke, there's a hide at the Inlaag Keihoogte. From this hide you see the birds at eye-level. This picture was taken from this hide.
Got lots of pictures of these geese that day.
Sorry, it's not the best of compositions, but this one came so close to the hide I would have had to have leant out of the window to get more water at the bottom of the frame.
I really did like the pose, though, so this is today's offering.
I'm always pleased when I manage to get anything in flight that's recognisable as a bird!! This one is actually Id-able too LOL.
Taken on an early June visit to Kinnordy.
There's been a few Greylag Geese summering at Kinnordy, so here's a few of them that I found at the west end.
Oh and BTW they sacked the Konik ponies, as they wouldn't walk out onto the bog bean... not really quite sure who thought they might LOL. (At least that is what I was told!)
A picture from my latest visit to Kinnordy on Tuesday. Goodness, it doesn't half know how to rain up here, but in between the sun came out and it was quite warm.
This guy was right in front of the hide when we arrived and I only managed a few shots before he'd drifted out of range. He seems a...
Went to the little loch up the hill today, but half of it is still frozen over, and a fair bit of snow still lying, not a lot about apart from some Mallards and about 8 Greylags
Well Peeps,
There was a little sprinkling of the white stuff here in Norfolk overnight, but the strong easterly winds are making it very cold. Not sure what the plan is for today as yet, but hopefully we will get out somewhere, even if its just to the marshes at the end of the garden here.
Another pic of a Greylag landing; this time showing it skid on the water. A bit less detail showing than the other one, as I didn't want to crop much so I could include the wake (Only cropped top & bottom for composition)
I was trying a few action/flight shots with the (relatively) new camera; here's a Goose landing.
(Ove: I found Shutter Priority and 1/1000th got reasonable results; I'll upload a flight shot later)
Another from last week's visit to Kinnordy.
I love the way you can hear these guys coming, then you see them as they circle round before landing; it just gives me an outside chance of getting an image, even if they're aren't close;).
