There were at least six colour ringed Ringed plovers in the pack. Still trying to ID the specific scheme.
Spotted this in Dunmore East on the south coast if Ireland. Certainly doesn't look like an immature Herring/GBBG to me. Is it maybe an Iceland or Glaucous gull? Both of these species have been known to winter in Ireland.
Any help ID'ing this would be great.

This photo was taken in a fjord in Norway. Great Black-backed & Herring Gulls were present at the time. I suspect this is a Great Black-backed Gull. I would be grateful if the experts can help
Although I live in a province almost completely surrounded by the sea, I live about 30 km inland, so it's not all that usual to see a gull here. Every now and then though, I'll see a lone wanderer passing overhead. If I see one, I'll call it a "Jonathan" from a story I read once...
