A marsh harrier grabbed suddenly a black-headed gull amongst a large flock and held it. Suddenly was attacked from above by another marsh harrier who forced her to release the prey (these are the three photos I've uploaded).

Ring-billed gulls it was with. I understand that we don't get these very often, this far inland. It just occurred to me, that I may have been...
Unexpected find? Not uncommon on Lake Erie in the summer, but I don't know one gull from another very well yet and seem to have captured one that isn't a Walmart parking lot special.
This gull I saw this afternoon along the Western Scheldt.

In the ID forum this gull is identified as the European Herring Gull, not the Great Black-Backed Gull.
So the title of the photo and the Scientific Name are both edited.
I'am sorry for the confusion.
Taken at the Martin Luther King Jr. Regional Shoreline at about 5m.
The weather gave some really odd lighting conditions, but this gull was amazingly tolerant of people getting close.
He looks all stompy and mean, doesn't he?
