    Northern Harrier (female)

Taken at the Martin Luther King Jr. Regional Shoreline (Oakland, CA, USA) at about about 80m. Also known as the Hen Harrier. One of two who came out of nowhere and scared the bejeezus out of a large flock of willets and godwits.

    Northern Harrier (female)

Taken at the Martin Luther King Jr. Regional Shoreline (Oakland, CA, USA) at about 130m. Also known as the Hen Harrier. This lady was out hunting. It's great watching them soar around and then low-altitude "hover hunt." There were at least two out-and-about this day.
