These were sharing a perch in the same tree on the rivers edge.I believe it's a Red Tailed hawk but it was lacking the signature red tail but I know that this hawk has widely varying plumage.
A visit to Marwell Zoo, We always keep our eyes open for the native wildlife here, This Sparrow Hawk passed us close by took a House Sparrow from the arm rail fence flew over the tiger fence and then hung around for a short while and left as quickly as it arrived.
This hawk was being mobbed by about 12-18 crows very agressively. I could just make out that the hawk had a smaller bird in it's talons so I think that was the root cause of this mob.

Captured this Coopers just after it landed on the trail and then flew into the trees. It has a rodent of some kind clutched in his talons along with the grass. I had to adjust the colour as I had not changed my camera from landscape mode.DOH!
