I went to my local reservoirs yesterday morning, thinking that the builders/workmen would be absent; they wasn't, they was working on Sunday. :(
Saw plenty of birds, and spooked a Kingfisher; still didn't see as many small birds as I'd expect. Oh, and the Midges are back; little Flies...

And no, the river water here doesn't go into the local beer, let alone Olympia beer :eek!: Just that it's the water that made me keep this image. The bird, sadly, isn't quite in focus.
I think I mentioned the petroglyphs at Alta before ...? One thing the museum there teaches is that the people who carved them divided their cosmos into three worlds - an underworld below ground and in the water, a surface world, and the heavens. Sea birds, especially diving ducks, were worshiped...
Taken yesterday on the river freshney which runs through the town. Very foggy today and can not see the bottom of my garden. catch up with comments durring the day.
