The mild sun must have been a welcome sign for this freshly arrived migrant.

The bird looked for food, around the car, more than half an hour. I had time to take lots of photos.

The river bank proved to be a great place for probing for food.

Probing the soil proved to be rewarding for this hoopoe.

After nearly two weeks of snow and teperature under zero we had again good weather. I was even more surprised meeting the first hoopoe of this year, in my region, probing in the ground.

The dusty road was hoopoe's favorit hunting ground. No even the slowly moving car, we were in, did not make her fly away. So my wife drived slowly following the bird and I took the photos.
