Most house finch males are bright orange or red or magenta about the head. I didn't see many as pale as this yellow one, although I did see a few others similarly yellow - or maybe just this one several times?
I hesitated to post this, but figured I should share the one shot I "sort-of" managed the other day. It's my way of staying in touch. Hope everyone is well.

This juvi House Finch was glad to see Dad come back from feeder with some food... The parents have been taking turns feeding the young in the backyard this week.
Here's another image of several clutchmates chasing dad around and demanding to be fed. They put on quite the show and DID NOT want to go through the trouble of actually getting food for themselves, they wanted dad to do it for them! I dearly wish I'd been able to get his beak in the picture...
Not the best quality picture, but look at these baby birds! "FEEEEEED US!!! WE DON'T WANT TO BE WEANED!!!" These little guys hopped frantically after dad, fluttering and cheeping their adorable little heads off. Father was non-plussed and appeared to be scolding them as he pointed out...
This bird briefly sat atop a trellis 3 m away from its nest after feeding its five chicks. The nest was situated atop a lighting fixture under the eave of my daughter's house in a residential area of Northampton, Massachusetts.
Saw these two juvenile House Finches at my bird feeders yesterday and thought people might enjoy a giggle at their fancy hair.
I live in S. Oregon, just north of Medford.
