On my early April walk round Gallowbank, that I showed you a picture of last week, I came across this House Sparrow.
He was happily chirping away too.

I'm a bit concerned about these this year - the parents usually feed 2 or more youngsters, but I've only seen single fledglings this year.

Hi all, after a long break from BF I now have a bit of time to comment on all the fabulous photos that I have been watching.... so thought it nice to join in on Saturday Fun. The Sparrow was outside my kitchen window waiting its turn at the feeder, thought the 'alligator' was going to gobble it...
A rare nice sunny day in February and I was tempted to go for a local wander.
It was really pleasing to notice quite a few different House Sparrow colonies and they were all chirrping away quite happily in the sunshine.
Just managed to get a view of this one, reserving one of the images for SF!!
Not certain I'm happy about this little guy showing off for his nearby mate. He's standing in front of a native western redbud tree that's beginning to bloom.

I didn't realise it was WSD until I saw Pratim's wonderful painting this morning (http://www.birdforum.net/gallery/showphoto.php/photo/578357/cat/all) - so a quick change of upload plan for me to find a House Sparrow picture in my folders.

...... Noooooo!!!!
I got the Sparrow perfectly focused with a great pose and ..... I get a photo bomber!!! Moment was lost of course!
Oh well!
