  1. Bliss

    Bliss

I quite fancied joining her.... the temperature was in the upper 20's if not into the 30's!!! And I thought Norway was a cool country LOL We'd left the cemetery and were heading for another, that on accessed through this little park. The pond was quite attractive and a draw for a number of birds.
  2. Guy in the long stuff

    Guy in the long stuff

Just yards from where I took my last picture I noticed a lot of movement in the tree beside the path. Hung around then out popped this male. He sat so nicely on the fence for me.

    Keeping an eye....

... well I'll explain you tomorrow. The other species we saw at the tea shop was House Sparrows and this guy was sitting perfectly posed on the roof near where we were sitting! A rather pleasant tea break.

    Playtime

There was one of those big tent-shaped things as a climbing frame in the children's playground and I suddenly spotted this guy sitting on one of the ropes. Taken against the light on the early evening, so not the best of pictures.

    The first fledgling

Not a good picture, sorry. I've lightened it the best I could. It was not a very nice day, the light was awful and he was in a dark place anyway..... but it was my first fledging of the season, so I had to record it. TTTW

    Going crazy

I don't recall what was going on when I took this shot, but that House Sparrow sure does look like he's mad ... in one sense or the other.

  14. Three of a different kind

    Three of a different kind

I suppose I must do something right to attract several different species to the dining room. Well, that's March done (apart from the final sunset later on) and The Beast gone to bed at last. TTTW Next a whizz through April, though with visits to both Kinnordy and Loch of the Lowes that month...

I am seeing them regularly at the end of Regent's Canal and in Wapping. So glad that they haven't disappeared from London completely.

    Chirp!

Gotta post some House Sparrows now and then. They're such common birds that they get unjustly ignored. This one was calling for attention.
  21. House Sparrow

    House Sparrow

An often overlooked species due its abundance, but checking carefully not only reveals a beautiful bird, but also provides great comedy value when they chase each other and squabble amongst themselves.
  22. Winter sun

    Winter sun

Most days were too dim for photography, at least for my limited settings skills. But every now and then a bird would pose in a rare beam of sunlight. The House sparrows especially would warm themselves in it when it was available.
