    An oldish Egret and Macaw

So these are both older digital pieces I've done and I felt like they're nice enough to share :giggle: Thinking of doing a new series with some songbirds I've been seeing on my trips lately, but we'll see how that goes haha

    Early morning shenanigans

My last series of playful macaws, this time highlighting more the fact that there's clearly also some kind of communication going on at these sessions.

    Playtime again

Time for some more playful macaws. This group was particularly active in the early morning, and the light here was much better than the scene in the palms I posted earlier.

    Playtime again

While the first picture was taken on a morning drive this was in the palms right next to the river, where the lodge's boats were kept.
  11. Playtime!

    Playtime!

Something I found very surprising at the time is that, aparently, the first thing Hyacinth Macaws do when it starts to get light is to interact with each other in a way that looks like playtime to us. We saw this on three occasions at different locations, every time fairly early in the morning...

    Hyacinth Macaw

*The* iconic bird species of the Pantanal. Aguape allowed for excellent observations of this species since there was a pair working on a nest cavity right outside reception, next to a path. These birds were not in the slightest bit disturbed by people admiring them, or by having their portrait...

Hyacinth Macaw (Anodorhynchus hyacinthinus) I saw this species in a number of places but I had only two good opportunities to photograph them. This photo was taken along the Piquiri River at the Piquiri River Fishing Camp at ca. 122 m (400 ft) elevation. There were lots of Palm trees with nuts...
