The evening sun was low and I needed to over expose slightly to get the detail of his wings.

The first time I have photographed these colourful and delicate looking birds.

Seen everywhere, in cities, towns, gardens, fields, forests. Hardly ever seen fishing, often than not seen feeding on grubs, insects, frogs and the like, away from water

Pretty and friendly, loves perching on posts and the tops of vegetation.

Fortunate to get him so well, normally a ground forager, his colouring blends well with foliage on the forest floor and they are nay on impossible to spot. Unlike other wagtails that have an up and down wagging movement of their tails, the Forest Wagtail moves its tail sideways.

Its a tug of war. Sympathies to the frog!!
