Also shot at the temple pond a couple of days ago & another full framer. Planning to visit Magadi lake today to see Bar-headed Geese.

Uploading an image of this after quite a while. A common bird here, surprisingly not seen during last couple of months. It has caught an insect, probably a dragon fly. Didn't realise it till I downloaded image to my laptop.

Looks from afar are so deceptive. Love the colours and plumage of this common (and I believe underrated) bird. It keeps its neck hidden most times. When it does stretch its neck it looks very special indeed.
