Image cropped, re-sized, levels adjusted and minimally sharpened.

Indian Roller at Yala National Park, Sri Lanka. The indicus subspecies is rather common in the dry lowlands, but this beauty was the only one I met in 3 weeks on the island.
Indian rollers can be seen mostly in dry zones in Sri Lanka and known as a common bird. We have taken this photograph during our recent visits to Maduru Oya national park one of the best places for bird watching in Sri Lanka.
This roller was perched on a jawar(sorghum) crop bathing in some lovely late evening sunlight. Normally a very shy bird, but this one allowed me to get quite close. Shot with my old Fuji camera.

Last to last Saturday I uploaded an image of this roller photo-bombed by an egret. Ken asked whether I had managed to get a full shot of him. So, here is a complete image of him.
