I wonder if the Intermediate Egrets feel inadequate when comparing themselves with their larger cousins LOL.
They can look large when their necks are fully extended like this.
He was on the same bank as the Magpie Geese, with a partially hidden Glossy Egret, so that patch of greenery seemed...
.... but not a porker LOL.
This rather beautiful Intermediate Egret was in the same tree as the cormorant on my previous post.
They were rather close to power lines crossing the site, and I was very sad to see a few corpses underneath them.
There were no coloured discs on the lines, like I...
.... but at the upper end. Bigger than little but smaller than great. Ken pointed out an Intermediate Egret on the far side of one of the lakes.
I still struggled with identifying these with certainty right to the end of my trip. He told me the features to look for - rounder head and shorter...
