There's at least one Jay fledgling in my trees, but I've not seen any yet. I hear the begging for food, but none have explored the garden yet. Here's an adult from yesterday; for those that remember, it's the regular with the hanging wing. I've trained him to do professional poses now ;)...
Well Peeps,
Here we are...Back in the USA, and how good it feels. Yesterday was a long 24 hours day, but after a nice few hours kip, we are up and about. The 8 hours plus flight wasn't too bad, but a lot of time spent hanging around airports both Heathrow and Philadelphia. I haven't unpacked me...
Through the double glazing as usual, not the bird with the hanging wing, one of the other regulars.

Through the double glazing as usual, but I've not shown this bird before. From it's habits, it's been a regular for a few years, and it's had a hanging wing since it first appeared. It can fly fine, and often wins mid-air fights with other Jays, but whenever it's on the ground it's right wing...
Quick early trip to the local woods before yet more arrives this was the best I could do in the poor light of my very first JAY.
Had a few days from posting etc on the BF but back today. just wanted a rest. will catch up on comments later during the day
Three more from fridays trip to the park...This must be the highlight of my visit to the park. I often see Blackbirds or Blue Tits bathing in this one part of the gulley that runs through the park. As I walked around the corner, this Jay had just hopped up out of the gulley. Thinking I'd missed...
Not easy getting pics of these lately, as I've a pair of Blackbirds nesting in my trees (or the bush overhanging my garden). As soon as a Jay appears in my garden, it's attacked by one of the Blackbirds. Loads of noise, and a few feathers lost during mid-air fights.
The Jays do get food, but...
There's heaps of jays in the local copse but have I managed to get a shot yet?.....nope. Somehow managed to sneak up on one the other day and fire off a few, happy days!
One from yesterday.
I've at least 6 regulars lately, which means lots of mid-air fights and squawking. Through the double glazing and high ISO/slow shutter as usual
