I don't think I've ever seen a Starling look quite so cute as this one LOL He seems to be very chilled out, doesn't he. TTTW Gosh what heavy frosts we've had the last couple of days, it's not lofted at all. A bit foggy too.

    Clinging on

I don't often see these guys sitting there, thought he looked rather nice in that setting. TTTW I'm shattered after a long day out with BF friends yesterday. A great day it was too with 76 species seen! Now trying to catch up on all your posts yesterday - I do apologise if I miss anyone!

    A shy one?

... LOL it looks like the older of these two vandals is trying to hide his face - perhaps he doesn't like the look of this messy plumage stage! This was taken early August but they disappeared around the end of that month and only the last few days have started to make their way back. TTTW I...

This picture was taken about a week after my 'nearly adult' one of the other day, so there appears to have been several clutches this summer. TTTW

    Youngsters about

The day after I got back from my holiday I discovered the place was full of youngsters - House Sparrows, Starlings and Blackbirds all seemed to have fledged in the previous few days. Got this young Starling on the shed roof, he still seems a bit unsure of himself - but that didn't last long...

    Juvenile Starling Being Fed

Had great fun watching a very rowdy group of Starlings feeding in a field, the group was a nice mix of adult and juvenile birds. This one was actually feeding this youngster a chip! Seemed to go down well but maybe a splash of ketchup next time would be better!

Another shot of a juvenile Starling in my garden, preparing to empty the fat ball feeder yet again. They are costing me a fortune. Ron
