This photograph was taken at Dana Point Marine, Dana Point, CA 92629. This morning the Marine had , Snowy Egrets and Black-crowned Night-Herons. A follow up photo from that day.
Sitting for ones portrait, that is. Boring for the little ones. This juv Black Phoebe caught yawning in the park at Sonoma Plaza. Sonoma Plaza, by the way, featured in the soap opera series "Falcon Crest", some of you may recall (bo-o-o-oring - for me).

The juvenile Siskin having a feed between the heavy showers. A lot of Siskins this year, they must be nesting close by as friends in the village have not been able to see them in their garden.
Here's one of the young takahe - probably about 6 months old. Nearly full grown but hasn't got his adult colours yet - its beak change to red and feathers will be blue and green. They start off as little balls of black fluff with a white spot on their beaks.
