:eek!: It's actually quite "mild" (for this far north, this late in the year). But yes, this little fellow needs to fatten up and learn how to stay warm. It stays a few degrees milder out on the Lade peninsula, where he lives, but even there it will drop to -20C for a few days mid-winter.- Doc Duck

its shrike time
but not in my garden, it seems that the bulbuls are doing a good job in chasing them away, but in the college area there are many, mostly lesser grey and red backed, only one masked in the past week. generally the migration is a bit slow until now. Hope you like this.- ammadoux

Juvenile New Zealand Falcon
