Yes, you may. You only had to ask politely.
And isn't it funny how even old, rusty machine parts leaned up against a woodshed can make a photogenic setting? While waiting to recycle, we can repurpose. |=)|
There's a birch tree just in front of the pine, making for a combined dense cover spot for scoping out the feeder and pecking open seeds. At this time of the year, with the leaves turning yellow, very good cover indeed for this greenfinch.
Another taken elsewhere than on the feeders. This juv greenfinch was quite nervous about my presence, in spite of all the smaller birds flitting back and forth obviously unconcerned. Here he's trying to hide behind the corner of the woodshed, perched on a stack of fenceposts, trying to build up...
Glanced up from washing the breakfast dishes and thought at first, unfocused glance "What the ...? Is that a horned lark at Mom's bird bath?" But of course not. Just a baby house finch with some odd fluffy bits in between its new adult feathers.
The window feeder has been very quiet the last week or so, but I suppose the birds will be back when there's less natural food.
Even though I'd not seen an adult for a bit, this young Blue Tit found my feeder at the beginning of July, so hopefully he'll return through the winter.

Good morning everyone. I'd forgotten about this image, but after fledging this little beauty has made several forays back to the area it was born, namely our back yard. It comes in, flits about and leaves before I get my camera, but I was ready for it last week.
Morning everyone. Not much to say about this little lovely. It wasn't keen on coming out into the open, but at least it sat still, so I was pleased to get a shot in the end.
Sure seem like grandchildren watching them starting to grow up. This one pitched within 8 feet of the lens. Of course I had the camera pointing in the wrong direction. I eased the camera around and figured I may get one shot however the shutter slap did not bother it a bit. Gave me several shots...
Good morning everyone. I only had one chance at this the other evening and.......I BLEW IT! not sharp at all, but I wanted to post to show you the wonderful colours and markings on this youngster.
Morning all, I had a bit of a scare yesterday, I fell over with my lens and gave it a bit of a bang. When I got back from my morning trip to the Brenne none of my images were sharp and I feared the worst. I went out back to test it and there was my little friend in the yard. I took this...
Good morning everyone. Its amazing sometimes, when youre actively searching for a species theyre hard to pin down. Yet, when you just go and see whats out there, theyre all over the place, 3 youngsters in the same spot on this visit.....Gotta dash, off to the Brenne, catch you all later.
This youngster was doing a balancing act. Eventually it managed to walk down the branch into the reeds, but not before presenting us with more photo opportunities.
