A mixed bag today - 2 new ones and an older one.
This is a reprocessed picture of the 3 young Blackcaps. I like the way the one in the middle is being protected by its 2 more developed siblings.
Just after finally catching the Monarch, I looked again for the Dollarbird and found two of them!
I'm pretty sure these are juveniles waiting patiently to be fed.
The flycatchers were so restless LOL.... they'd got a couple of youngsters to feed.
It was such a delight to spot these two on a branch over the river.
.... or is it Dad?
My sequence of pictures showed the adult flying up the fence to the hungry mouth above. Loads more lined up there though so it'll be a non-stop job for a while I reckon LOL

This time a young Starling and Blackbird.... looks like this one will be a male.
They were pouring out of the nests through June, even though the weather was foul most of the month.

From Hogganfield loch last summer. Lens is manual, and at the extreme end of 800mm. Just a blob in the distance, and I didn't see either youngster until I looked at the pic.
From Hogganfield loch last summer. Lens is manual, and at the extreme end of 800mm. Already practising being an adult and trying out the courtship dance - childhood seems much too short these days...!
A pair of African Fish-Eagles was raising two offspring near the shore of Awasa Lake. The adults were feeding fish they had caught in the lake to the juveniles.
Answers to yesterdays Quiz on Juveniles.
CONGRATULATIONS to Margaret ( Mags1967) who got them all right,
Thanks to others that took part, some were close, but no cigar.
I finally have a few more new pics to share so here's one of them. A flock of 10 Bewick's turned up at the weekend but only a family group of 4 remained. They were a new species for me so very pleased.

A flotilla of American White Pelicans preparing to fish the pump-stream where water was being pumped from one evaporation pond to another (steps in the salt production process). There were also a Great Egret and two Snowy Egrets standing on a derelict pier, watching the water to see if it was...
I was able to get out locally late afternoon, yesterday, after the day of rain. I wasn't disappointed and came upon a family of Green Woodpeckers. With some patience, the 2 juveniles were eventually happy to feed, sunbathe and bounce around within photographic range. |=)|
Another from yesterday's visit to Oakwood. There were loads of juveniles about the place for us "oldies" to see - this was one of my faves, great little posers.
During a biking-trip from Amsterdam to Scheveningen, I came across this mummy Grebe with 2 babies on her back, somewhere in a 'polder'. She didn't swim away when I started taking pics, so I guess she trusted my looks ;)
Thanks for the confidence & the posing, mummy Grebe! :)
