    Taken on the south coast of Victoria, I believe this to be an immature female King Parrot of the 'scapularis' race

    We were off early on our travels again the next day, but before we left this gorgeous King Parrot paid a return visit, this time to the vegetable garden. Couldn't resist him.

    One of our most colourful parrot species are the King Parrot. The male has a beautiful red head while the female has a green head. When they come into the tall gums trees on our property, they will come down in the cooler months, to feed on fruit or seeds.
