I was taking many pictures of a vermilion flycatcher when this kingbird came and took it's spot. Traded the red for the yellow.

Eastern Kingbird (Tyrannus tyrannus) I saw my first one of the year yesterday. We have an explosion of micromoths and grass moths this year and I think this Kingbird was moth hunting.

This handsome guy was buzzing around picking off the insects at my favorite lake yesterday. If I were a bird and ran across another bird with a scientific name like this one has I don't think I would mess with it.

This very photogenic bird sat and posed for myself and Mark, first one side then the other , and waited while I got moved around to get a better BG. A real prima dona.

This eastern Kingbird caught a dragonfly and proceeded to beat it into submission , it took about a dozen whacks on the branches before it was ready to be eaten.
