Kingfisher - I have now nicknamed this Kingfisher Mali, after my friend. I will have fond memories everytime I photograph him.

We're off to London this morning for a friend's funeral, so I will catch up with y'all later.

Went back to the canal today to see if I could find the kingfisher (saw fleetingly last time but Kestrel came & scared away). At last - my first definite tick! Lots of fishing going on, but only managed blurred pix of the catch in rain & low light... Also a first for a treecreeper...

A beautiful Malachite Kingfisher. I filmed a pair of these birds along a river in the Eastern Cape of South Africa for my bird website. I also managed to snap this photo.
