Normally I don't take photos of this bird, as it is an introduced species in Western Australia. However, I need a shot for a project I'm working on, and the light was so good this morning.

Laughing Kookaburras

We don't get this bird around Perth, so it was nice to see them inn Queensland.

The Laughing Kookaburra was introduced to Western Australia from Victoria in 1896 and is firmly established in the south west. Unfortunately it is a predator of the nestlings of smaller birds.

No longer a lifer, but the Kookaburras at Centennial Park posed even closer and in better light than the ones the day before in the Botanical Gardens. Consider yourselves warned: There may be more Kookaburra shots
