Something spooked this group of Lapwing - they flew around for a minute or two before settling back on the bog bean.
Never saw what it was that scared them though.
Even though they were a bit distant, I was quite pleased to get such recognisable birds in the frame.
Great looking birds, but they also so effective at blending in. Without cropping the image and adjusting the contrast, I found it difficult to make out the beak and the legs clearly.
Lapwing - Have been out with Mr Mali Halls all day. The trouble is he always brings bad weather. We had a great day though with plenty to see. This shot was taken at ISO 5000 as the light was so bad. I would estimate there was around 10,000 of these there.
