Laughing Gull

I was at the beach on a place where fishermen comes in. One of them threw a bucketful of fish offal into the water, and this gull was one of the ones picking off as much as it could get.

A Laughing Gull to be precise and they actually sound as though they are laughing hysterically when they call out.

I know it's a Laughing Gull but can't figure out what it dived numerous times to pick up what it is in its mouth. Any thoughts?

In Busch Gardens

Very common yet longest wingspan of any North American gull.

I believe this is the 8th or 9th record for San Mateo County. Subspecies L. a, megalopterus recognized by Clements/eBird, HBW, IOC & HM4 considered a junior synonym of nominate by BNA and thus invalid.

Loads of laughing gulls around the coast. Thought this one was particularly handsome.

Probably the easiest rare bird for the UK i've ever seen...On the beach here 200 yards from our house.

I think this one's going on his third winter, assuming I've read the plumage illustrations in my guidebook correctly.

Laughing Gulls were also a lifer for me. I don't think I get to count Yawning Gull, though. I doubt it's officially recognized as a species.
