This subadult female (from the lack of distinct yellow eyering) chose to settle down early. Shot her picking nesting materials twice but did not get to see her mate.
Taken at Anawilundawa Bird Sanctuary near Chillaw, Sri Lanka. Not a wonderful shot but this bird is so difficult to spot I was happy to catch it in the open.
This is a bird of the hills and low mountain, essentially a fruit eater that prefers the canopy. Typical of Green Leaf bird, they go about their business "whispering". It is easy to detect their presence but hard to see them because of the camouflage and also their position in the canopy
