I need help with this one. I think it might be a female Linnet but as I don't often see these birds I am not very good at identifying them, especially since the female doesn't have the pinkish tinges of the male. Whatever it is, it was sitting on gorse bushes at Minsmere. Ron

I was taking a shot of a female Stonechat,and heard this bird singing away,he was on a gorse branch just above the Stoney,thinking he is a male,just starting to change into his breeding plumage,can see faint red plumage,but I could be wrong.

Out before sunrise to beat the rain this morning, wandered along the clifftop coastal path in Scarborough and came across this female Linnet - the only bird showing and even though I could hear lots of birds this was the only one brave enough to stick its head over the parapet!

A lovely little bird!.....it was at the bottom of the laneway enjoying a cool drink forn a puddle. The quality was lacking from the lenthy crop!...but I thought the colours were nice.
Another shot from Dungy on monday, this bird was quite away off. I can never get close to these birds, so decided to stand back from this one, hence the poor quality.
