I was taken by this Little Black Cormorant's eye colour in Manley, NSW

    The small one

Of course there were some cormies around, but no so many as the day before; I guess the tide was at a different stage. I found this Little Black Cormorant sitting nicely at the top of a bush.
  5. Black

    Black

Not far from yesterday's swallow a Little Black Cormorant was observing the action going on at the pond. Still the light was awkward, guess I could have done this image as a black and white one LOL

    Count 'em then

We went out for lunch but first, Alex had some messages to run in town, so dropped June and me off at some lakes on the other side of the road from the harbour, with a railway line beyond it. So we had around an hour to explore. This is what first confronted us as we walked away from the car...

    Emerging

I spotted a Little Black Cormorant in the water and then, of course, the obvious happened. Got focused, went to click and.... .... and thanks Ann for reminding me that it was Saturday today, so I kept to your watery, splash theme LOL

    An All Black

.... ooops wrong country;) Little Black Cormorants were also enjoying this lily pond. I thought there was some black tape wrapped round the post, but looking closely I see it is actually his feet. So he wasn't perched, but clinging.

You need to look closely, but there's quite a lot of cormorants roosting in the trees. I think they're mostly Little Pied Cormorants with a Little Black Cormorant near the Ibis on the water. We'd got back to what I called the 'Jacana' Lake, as the lily pads with the Jacana are at the far end. I...

    Small one

... small is relative of course LOL As we started our wander around the park, we found, in a tree at the edge of the water, this Little Black Cormorant.

    'Sprung'

Hi all, I uploaded a Pink-eared Duck a while back trying to sneak passed me (but I got it!). Well I went to visit the rookery when Pete and I had gone to Williamstown, still no Pelicans or Ibis nesting there, rather strange! Saw the L/B Cormorant and took a shot and there behind it were two P/E...
