Perched on a lone acacia tree in a lake for quite a while, looking out for fish. Allowed me to get within 15 yards for a good photo op, probably feeling secure with the water around. A full framer.

Perched on a tree at Gudavi Bird Sanctuary are an Eurasian Spoonbill, Darters(both of them firsts for me) and a Little Cormorant. Shot taken against glaring, fore noon sun light from the opposite direction, from a watch tower at a considerable distance. Hence, quality of image is a bit iffy.

Like all other cormorants...........they will emerge from water.............. and will hold out their wings and stay immobile for a while..........and the reasons are so many........!!!!!!!!
Little Cormorant form Sri Lanka, you see them everywhere even in the lake right in front of the Hotel, along with many types of herons and many gorgeous pelicans, and not to forget the Eurasian and the white-breasted kingfisher, somehow only the shots i took for these guys and the WB kingfisher...
