The light was just about perfect for this little grebe, who prefers a little channel off the main lake and doesnt mind you getting to close to him as long as your quiet.

There was a small group of Little Grebes fishing in Koya pond. I captured two of them playing around.

Another from a short series of shots of this little grebe eating a bullhead. After the bird consumed the fish, it rested.

Three from my last trip to Rye Harbour for ya today. We're busy trying to get stuff ready for our trip to Norfolk on saturday, cant wait.

I was using my Sigma 300 lens with a 2X converter attached when I saw this grebe dive and come up with a fish. This was one of those occasions when I wished I was with the 300 as a bare lens or was using zoom. Despite inching back to try and get the whole bird in shot I just did not managed it...

Taken along a very dark stretch of canal covered by trees ISO2000, 1/200th Sec, 300 lens 2X converter, full frame.
