little grebe

Well I'm still working away but managed to get a couple of shots in. I hope you are all well & hope to be back soon.

Saw this little chap repeatedly diving. From what I've subsequently read, it was a first-winter bird, from the plumage, but feel free to correct me.

Took this at RSPB Snetissham, Norfolk

Little Grebe

Unlike its brothers & sisters, this baby grebe always stayed close to its mom (or dad)!

This juvenile Little Grebe was well over 100m away, so it's a bit small in the frame|=)| I could have cropped this, but I've left it full frame to show how small the bird looked to me. Actually, I've left it full frame because I like the water colour/reflections; I even considered cloning out...

One from a few days ago.

Not often I have gotten close to these so I was pleased to get some reasonably close shots today. Still quite a big crop but one of the best I have managed with this species.

can't resist having a go at these little balls of fluff no matter how many times I see them.
