He rang this morning though to wish everyone Happy New Year. Some progress though. Last week the ISP sent someone to sort out his connection - only they couldn't get the new modem to work. All being well they're coming back on Monday to fit another new one - so hopefully he'll be back online...
If anyone went to the bird fair you may have seen a cut out of fat Yorkshire bloke at the entrance to a naquee, if so did you visit the Birds illustrated stand and get a free print. Heres one the other is in the gallery a few pages back. Little Owls are uncommen in Cornwall but when I lived in...
Little Owl again I'm afraid. Maybe the last ones though in this setting as the farmer was collecting and carting away the rolls of straw this morning. They certainly seem to like this roll as it's the third day in a row they've been here. Just two here this morning though a third juvenile nearby.

Little Owl snoozing in the sunshine at Ipsou Monastery, Lesvos. A friend allowed me to put my camera body onto his 500mm lens (don't know what make etc it was).

This is the 'Speedy Gonzalez' of the Little Owls on my patch. He has been dodging me for weeks and I'm worn out with his antics! This shot was taken from my car just a millisecond before he was off again!!
While sat in the open packing up my camera at 9.58pm last night, this little owl came and sat on a branch above me, I could see no detailes as it was so dark I pointed my camera and took several shots he took no notice.
I am please that these owls are still active in Westbury as I have not seen...
A pair of Little Owl have taken up residence on my local patch. I've always thought this fence line looked ideal for them to hunt from and sure enough today there were two of them sat on the fence posts. They probably do make good neighbours with the horses keeping the grass short making mice...
