SF Long eared owl...
Sitting on a sign for a military training area. The sign says:Protected object. No trespassing and suits the owl very well.Very unusual to spot this owl out in the open like this,almost always hidden deep in vegetation during daytime,probably trying to dry its feathers after a rain shower.- Digiscoper321

Which Owl Species, Italian Alps
Hey all. Please have a listen to these recordings I've made last September. These were taken in the Italian Alps in the Susa Valley, elevation approx 1000m. The local resident owl species are Tawny, Long-Eared, Eurasian Pygmy, and Boreal. If anyone has any experience in differentiating calls...- payaminotom

Long-eared Owl
I spotted this long-eared owl from my front room sofa (!). The windows face a cul-de-sac which is a very quiet alley in a small-town environment. It was there for two days only. This photo was taken on a cold and frosty morning, the owl roosting in the first soft rays of light. Peaceful.- jafritten
