    The woodpecker makes his usual visit to my feeder and takes a walnut back to the tree to enjoy it in peace. Wrong. He was then attacked by three Magpies forcing him to drop the walnut which was very quickly retrieved by one of them. Just look at the smug look on that Magpies face. Just love this...

    well my friends spotted loads of juvie birds in the garden yesterday so had to get some pics.and look who appeared for an easy meal this big fella,to my surprise i caught him on the fat ball feeder something i havent noticed before,hope you like this soggy stunner,cheers john.

    I put out the feed yesterday. set myself up, pour a cup of tea and rolled a fag waiting for the birds to come back after my intrusion. Then low and behold what should glide was this Magpie, avery rare moment for the wood, manage three frames before it did a flyer.

    well my friends i cant believe how close you get to these very wary birds from the bunting hide,theres allways a big gathering of them,from the background in this pic you can see how deep the water is in this usually dry area,hope you like,john.

    The Magpies have suddenly got braver down the wood , having loads of fights and losing to the Jays though. still not many small birds back yet, but did have Goldfinches visiting which was great.
