    magpies were introduced to New Zealand from Australia. Not popular birds, in fact they are thought of as pests. Quite aggressive, territorial birds.

    I live near the town-centre in an enclosed private property with about two hundred flats and lots of old trees, bushes , grassy plots and flower-beds. The place has been taken over by magpies and wandering cats have to be very wary. I can see one of their nests in a tree outside my living-room...

    One of the reasons I bought a new camera was I wanted a faster AF and response time. I was missing too many action and flight opportunities, and stopped blaming myself and blamed the camera instead ;) This is my first attempt using the 5.5fps continuous AF of the new camera for a smallish bird...
