Unfortunately not too many leaves for him, but doing is best to escape "The Beast". You can just see the streaks from some of the falling snow.
For those from other continents, the Beast from the East was a particularly severe spell of weather coming from Siberia at the end of...
This is obviously a male, but wondering if he's a sub-adult, as his breast patch isn't very well developed?
He's out of my other window in a neighbouring garden that was developed and now looked after with the assistance of the handicapped. It makes for quite a pretty outlook for me.

He looks a bit of a bully boy, throwing his chest out, doesn't he! Hope it's not a growth though.
One of many House Sparrows that hang around the garden.

Continuing my walk that beautiful sunny day, I found yet another colony of House Sparrows in a bush. They do seem to be doing pretty well in this town, fortunately.
Here's one of the guys in that group, I've reserved one of his silly poses for SF!
.
A male Sparrow was in the same area as the female from yesterday.
They seem to be 'flocking' a bit more just now, rather than the odd one or two visiting, so guess they're preparing for the new breeding season.

They look lovely sitting in bushes, don't they.
What a miserable day it is today - the wind woke me up in the early hours and I had to bring in the window feeder, as the feed was sopping wet in the tray!

House Sparrows, particularly the males, don't come to the window feeder that often, so I was pleased to get this one right in the frame.

We have loads more of the white stuff today and it's lying on top of Sundays frozen offering, so I fear the footpaths are going to be a bit dicey to...
I seem to have neglected sparrows of late!
One July morning when I was feeding the birds, I noticed some movement in a little shrub beside a shed.
Had to lean out the window a bit to get the angle for this shot. Discovered there were a few House Sparrows flitting about in there.
Goldfinch and...
I don't see the Sparrows on the window feeder very often, they seem to prefer the shed roof or the ground below the window.
Not complaining though... except the window had some spots on it (sorry)!!

hi all.hope your all doing good.been really busy with lifes chores just now one being work.one of my sparrows on the feeder in my holly tree.i get alot of small birds but usually never capture them because of the shrubs around them and when i do their sitting on my fence!!!
my little sparrows.think these birds are under rated for their beauty and love their relationship with us.smart birds and three broods i have seen this year so hopefully their population will be on the up.
... this is the last picture I got of a sparrow in the beech hedge before it greened up. You can see that there's few leaves left on it now and the buds are getting ready to burst open.
It's harder to find the sparrows in there now! But more excitements to come;)
