Today's visit before his first migration-- 1st-year male Ruby-throated Hummingbird (next year at this time, that throat will be iridescent red; assuming he live through all of those crazy migratory hazards). Fly well lil' feller.

It is hard to see the beauty of this avian gem due to the fact that it is mostly fast on the wing and flying high. He has a two-tone green head, white breast, and the aqua, magenta and purple back, along with dark brown wings.
The Goldfinches pop in and out giving me a glimpse of them on occasions. This one shot through the kitchen window, thought if I open the door it would be gone.
I was on a short trip to Japan and visited few ponds in the city of Tokyo. I got some close shots of Mallards. This Male had the entire pond to itself and its female companion ;)
... from one special finch, to a normal one. Just liked his colours and the setting!
I paid quite a few visits to Kinnordy in the latter part of March, hoping to see the arrival of Ospreys, didn't but Gus got one early April. He deserves it, with the amount of hours he spends keeping an eye on...
