After husband had his nap, we drove to the campus for a sunset stroll along the lake and a dish of the university's own ice cream (made with cream from their own cows), sort of a memory lane thing since this our daughter graduated from UW Madison. I did manage to capture one lifer on that walk...
I shot this one a couple of weeks ago and at first time through the photos I passed it up. Being as it has been a rough week at work I decided to stay home in the Cool Air and go through the 2k plus photos and see what stands out to me.
This one jump out at me. I am 99.99 percent sure this...
... again. I rarely see them iridesce to blue or purple. Green is the norm. But two weekends in a row I saw one iridesce to blue near that pond in the arboretum.
From my stroll through the village after our hike on the moors. This tiny little village used to be rather industrial, it seems, with various smithies and a mill.
I was on a short trip to Japan and visited few ponds in the city of Tokyo. I got some close shots of Mallards. This Male had the entire pond to itself and its female companion ;)
Upon request I thought another snapshot of this "handbags-at-dawn scuffle" between two Mallard mothers looked quite funny because they stick their bills into each others plumage.
The peace and tranquility of two mother Mallards taking their ducklings out for a little swim in the sunshine suddenly changed into both mothers locking horns, or beaks, rather. On the picture the scene may look friendly but it was anything but. They ruffled each others feathers alright.
