Found this fellow on the Leeds-Liverpool canal at Melling in the same place for the second time in 2 years (even though I don't really know if it's the same individual, of course). Seemed happy enough - even came over to check me out, or check if I had any food ;-)

Every now and again we get a couple of madarin ducks on the pond at the Longshaw etsate but this year we've been lucky enough to have about 50 of these beautiful birds reside with us. I was quite lucky as well to get this picture of the male in full plumage/displaying. It's something I've not...

It's a first! I couldn't beleive my eyes when I saw this little guy swimming with a group of Mallards in my local country park!

Spotted at Eyeworth Pond, Hants. Possibly the most jaw droppingly beautiful bird I have seen. Maybe just nudging out the kingfisher!
