This is mega early for me to be posting, but I'm waiting for BF's Toby H to pick me up. We are off on a road trip birding today, hence the early start. I cant believe I got up at really "Silly o'clock" LOL. Hope you all have a good day, see y'all later.
Typical April weather with sunshine and showers resulted in a stunning and vibrant rainbow across the marsh. So I was rather pleased when the male marsh harrier chose to fly in front of it.
One of the main reasons for heading to Norfolk was to try for some better shots of these wonderful raptors. Found a great spot for them and came back with some decent shots. Here is a male.
This was undoubtedly the closest view we had of the Marsh Harrier on our recent trip to Norfolk. Ironically, we were on the path between hides and it just appeared!

The marsh Harriers were showing well over the reed beds at Strumpshaw Fen last Friday morning. I would have preferred them to have been a bit closer but you can't have everything in life! Taken from the Fen hide.
