Another shot of a Marsh Tit at Minsmere, showing the ravages caused by a hard breeding season. Ron

    Scruffy Marsh Tit

Not looking like any Marsh Tit I have seen before, this little fella was perched in the bushes yesterday, busy looking after its scruffy plumage. Ron

Sometimes have to wait for hours here before anything decent comes, but you can get nice close-ups with a low profile. Had a pitched battle with my camera against the dreaded "dead battery syndrome".

A Marsh Tit in the trees at Strumpshaw Fen yesterday. I love these little birds but they don't usually stay still long enough for me to get a shot. This one must have been feeling lazy in the sunshine. Ron

Lots of clutter removed and a new BG used on this one. Please note that the EXIF pertains to the BG image and not the bird shot.

It seems that these birds at Salcey Forest are actually Marsh Tits and not Willow Tits, as myself and Ray had originally thought. I've only just discovered that the pale spot on the beak is a very good identification point.

These guys usually go straight to the seed feeders, luckily this one stop on a perch first.

I went to Dimmings dale today netting and ringing with Keith clowes and some friends, altogether 109 birds where rung, including Marsh Tit!
