    Perched in a blooming osoberry shrub (Oemleria cerasiformis). Osoberry is the first native shrub to open and bloom in spring here in coastal Washington state.

    Good summer for these birds, have lots of Juvies around the yard. I haven't put a lot of seeds out and no feeders this summer. But just to give my birdy buddies a treat, occasionally I will spread some here and there and also some peanut butter which they seem to enjoy.

    It's hard to tell in this picture who is feeding who, but the smaller male Song Sparrow is feeding a larger female of an unidentified species. Is this a female song sparrow? If so, why does she look so different compared to usual pictures of a female?
