This little one (as seen in the Gallery a couple of days ago) called out as soon as I showed up. She came across. I think it wanted protection rather than food.
The Chelt (named after Cheltenham, not vice versa) is not much more than a tiny stream. But there are one or two bits to allow for flood prevention. This one, next to the huge Waitrose supermarket, is home to a breeding pair of Moorhen.
