  1. I really wouldn't have expected....

    I really wouldn't have expected....

.... to see one of these on the walkway to the information centre/cafe LOL. But there he was strutting his stuff oblivious of all the people around him.
  2. Maggie

    Maggie

Despite the numbers of people at the top of Mount Coot-tha, this Australian Magpie seemed quite unfazed and wandered around their fee quite unfazed.
  3. Celebrating the spring greenery

    Celebrating the spring greenery

A few fresh leaves were appearing to set off this Pied Currawong, another newbie for my fast growing trip Lifer list. Rather neat black and white birds with a beautiful yellow eye. Ken and Judy had driven me up to Mount Coot-tha to the west of Brisbane with wonderful views over the city.
  4. Putting on a pose

    Putting on a pose

Down by the lake, an Ibis was doing his best ballerina pose (at least that's what it reminds me of LOL).
  5. In the shade

    In the shade

... but another not bothered by the presence of people He was wandering around visitor's feet then up some steps. Actually I've never noticed birds here spending any time in the shade, guess they really want to keep warm LOL Another Life bird for me.
  6. Not bothered

    Not bothered

There were a lot of people up at the visitor centre for Mount Coot[tha, but this Magpie didn't seem at all concerned by their presence.
  7. Sorry

    Sorry

.... lied - yesterday. I did get a picture of this Pied Currawong in flight.;); not just the tail I showed you yesterday... (forgive me?) We'd gone up to Mount Coot-tha, which has wonderful panoramic views over Brisbane and this guy was flying about round the visitor centre there.
  8. Missed

    Missed

Trying to photograph a Currawong, my timing was out!!! His was perfect! Australian birds seem to have the same skills for avoiding the camera as 'our' birds do! At least I got a bit of him.
