Photo taken for a friendly competition (in mono) on another forum. Even colourless, these doves are pretty. This one was warming up in the morning sun after a below freezing night.
I usually don't bother taking pics of the mourning doves. They're unbiquitous around here. On any given morning when I go out to fill the feeders, there's 6 or 10 sitting around on tree limbs and wires, silent and still, like a troup of vampires awaiting their next victim. It's kind of creepy...
