    My wife and I went canoeing this morning to sneak up on Ducks. Very soon we found three Muskrats sleeping on a tree trunk, sticking out of the shallow water along the shore.

    Todays outing turned out to offer a few sightings of animals in the wild that did not originate in Europe. This muskrat was eating plants not far from the water. It is the second time I saw one this year, in broad daylight. Shortly after I spotted it, the muskrat was chased away by a moorhen!
