Someone had claimed this to be a Northern Shrike....not! Northern is right...Northern Mockingbird that is--in a crab apple tree.

Caught this Mockingbird playing in a pond at the Howell Woods Enviromental Learning Center. Looked like it was quite taken with its reflection.

Spent an hour or so this morning going through our pics from our USA trip last year, and have selected three for our Colonial cousins today. First up is a Northern Mockingbird taken during our trip to Nashville, Tennessee, great birds to watch and to listen to.

One morning this week we were photographing birds in Anastasia State Park when Lydia spotted an adult Mockingbird feeding its fledgling. I was able to capture this picture of the feeding.

I spotted this little one one a downed branch. At first I thought it was a Catbird but the eye markings are different.

Took this photo yesterday but was having trouble ID'ing the bird. I was leaning towards N. Mockingbird but the dark eye was throughing me off. Several folks from our local bird club ID'd as N. Mockingbird so guess I will stick with that as probably a juvi or young adult that has kept the dark...

Caught this one early morning at work. Having feet problems, Heel spurs, and not getting out too much, after work just want to stay off my feet. Hope to have this problem licked in a few weeks though and get more active. I'll be back in KC's state Charleston, SC for a few days this week, wonder...
