A tiny bird overwintering in a very restricted area in Northern Oman attracts hundreds if not thousands of birders. Well I managed to see it during my birding trip to Oman...
The whistling call of Tristram's Starlings echoes in the wadis of Southern Oman making them enjoyable to see. A group of birds let me approach them down to a few metres after a pleasant camping. I was rather dark at the bottom of the wadi but still managed to get a few shots.
It is time to go back to my bird pictures from Oman. Here I present one of the birds are really wanted to see during my <a href="http://naturemonitoring.com/?s=oman"...
White-breasted or Abyssynian White-eyes were another common species in Southern Oman. They were moving around in small groups so seeing more than one at a time was often the case.
Lovely little birds.

Race arabs
Arabian Partridge is fairly common in the Southern part of Oman. Nearly every valley has them. I was lucky to approach one fairly close during my recent trip to Oman. See the day description on my blog here: http://naturemonitoring.com/birdwatching-and-photography-trip-to-oman-day-9-12-12-2014/
Here is one more Babbler for the gallery upon your request. If you want to see more images from my trip to Oman you can have a look at my blog here www.NatureMonitoring.com
Arabian Babblers are rather common in Northern Oman. I got this shot shortly after sunrise not far from Muscat. I have published more photos and stories from my trip to Oman on my blog here www.NatureMonitoring.com
Bonelli's Eagle is a usual bird to see in Oman. For the 10 day trip we had over 5 individuals at various places. This young individual must have eaten something fairly soon. It was a superb trip. Have a look at the checklist of birds seen on the most recent post on my blog here...
The Little Green Bee-eater is one of the common birds in Oman. Just finished the final checklist of bird seen during my recent trip and uploaded it on my blog here http://naturemonitoring.com/
Blackstarts are birds that I have always wanted to see when flipping through the pages of the Collins Bird Guide. Well here they are. During my trip to Oman I had quite a few opportunities not just to see but also photograph them. They were fairly tame at some locations.
Have a look at some...
These superb sunbirds were rather common during a trip that I did in Oman in December. Here is a daily trip report with pictures published on my blog here www.naturemonitoring.com
I took this picture of a Brown-necked Raven during a recce trip I did in Oman in December 2014. Here is a day to day trip report with a lot more pictures from the trip http://naturemonitoring.com/
Recently I visited Oman for a birdwatching trip. This Purple Sunbird was one of my first new birds in this superb two weeks trip. See my latest stories including daily reports about the trip on my blog here: http://naturemonitoring.com/
An increasingly regular winter visitor to Oman, possibly from the small breeding population in Yemen. This bird had perhaps been stunned by wires as it tried to land with others at the sewage works. It appeared stunned as it sat under a small acacia close to the road
Taken in December 2010.
Converted to B&W with a Red Filter via Lightroom presets. Some tweaking with sharpness, contrast.
Its actually quite good fun messing with the pre-sets I hadn't tried before.
